A true gem. This BBC/Japanese Netflix coproduction is really blending Japanese and British drama. Well made, sweet and intimate, surreal and unconventional. It starts out as a simple saga of two brothers taking opposite sides in Tokyo crime; yakuza vs cop, eventually taking their adventures to the streets of London. In a great cast of characters, two stand out: rebellious daughter Taki (Aoi Okuyama) and a sad gay sexworker Rodney (Will Sharp). Between all the blandness on offer, Netflix also dares to invest in things unprecedented.
