Dutch Design Week 2017, 21 – 29 October

In October of each year the Dutch Design Week takes place in Eindhoven. In more than hundred locations across the city, DDW organises and facilitates exhibitions, lectures, prize ceremonies, networking events, debates and festivities. Below you will find a short list of WHAT to see and WHERE to go in Eindhoven this week.

DUTCH INVERTUALS

NS LOODS / STUDIO EDHV / Fuutlaan 12b

‘Fundamentals’ will shed light on both the things that inspire and fascinate 47 designers and those they collect. This year’s guest curators are Raw Color, the exhibition design was created by Daphna Laurens.

Robert Bronwasser is celebrating his 25th anniversary as an industrial designer by opening an exhibition of his most iconic and innovative designs to date.

NIELS HOEBERS

In ‘The Big Improvisation Stop Motion Animation Show’ Hoebers spends a week creating an animation in collaboration with all of the visitors. A must see!

SANDER WASSINK

Sander Wassink is presenting 10 works made in the past 5 years in his studio. Wassink is also part of the Section C Orchestra, in which he and designer Jelle Mastenbroek have taken on the role of conductor and composer.

THE YOUNG COLLECTORS

Wander through the home of two young design and art collectors who asked Studio Thier & van Daalen to design their remarkable kitchen. The duo also curated the ‘Voyeuristic Exhibition’ in this renovated 1930s dwelling.

COR UNUM

VDMA / Vestdijk 25-27

Cor Unum Ceramics is presenting the project ‘Changing the Skin’. In this project several designers associated with Cor Unum examine ways to ‘break’ the traditional ceramic process.

SOCIAL LABEL

PIET HEIN EEK / Halvemaanstraat 30

Social Label’s presentation includes a new label by designer duo Kranen/Gille and Weener XL. Initiators Petra Janssen (Studio Boot) and Simone Kramer (C-mone) are also organizing the exhibition ‘Collectie & Community Social label’.
