‘Designing Club Culture 1960 – Today’. This exhibition is about nightclubs: the design part of it all. Viewed in a different way than you would at night. Presented as spaces that merge architecture and interior design with sound, light, fashion, graphics, and visual effects into a modern gesamtkunstwerk. With examples of legendary discotheques (such as ‘Studio 54’ and, the more recent concept by the OMA architecture studio, for the ‘Ministry of Sound’ in London) the relationship between design and club culture is made clear, also with everything from interiors to graphics and an installation, created by Konstantin Grcic for the exhibition.
